Excellent Ryokan.

December 28th, 2012

We (2 adults and a daughter) stayed at the ryokan for a night in early Dec. It was a most memorable experience and we strongly recommend this ryokan to anybody who visits Kinosakionsen. Our experiences were as follows . a) 5 min. walk from the JR Kinosakionsen station, almost in the middle of town. b) Very clean room and safe environment. c) We had the ‘Kaiseki’ dinner. Both the food and service was excellent. d) The ryokan has only 4 rooms. Consequently, it was very quiet and service very personalized. e) Accommodation at Kinosakionsen is very expensive and this ryokan offers one of the best value for money. f) Different designs of high quality ‘Yukata’ was included. We were awed with the designs. g) Free access to the 7 onsens in Kinosakionsen. h) The manager, Kojima-san took 2 photos and personalized them for us, including a small memorable gift on our departure at 6.45am the next day. i) Very comfortable beds and warm room especially on a very cold night (zero degree C). After soaking in the private bath, we had the best sleep in our entire 1-week holiday.

Location/Local Attractions : Yes I did find it very easy to get here cause it’s not far from Hakodate Station. Although I didn’t see much of Hakodate’s attractions. I went Mt. Esan and climbed it which was great. Tommorow, I’ll visit the morning market and other attractions around. Staff/ Charactor : Yes they did, they were nice and helpfull with my planning and answered all my questions. I would recommend it as a good and silent place. Security : I didn’t use the deposit boxes or anything such as that but I felt safe here, I had no worries about my safety or my stuff. I enjoyed staying very much, thank you !

Kawaguchi-ko Station Inn was friendly and good value.

November 20th, 2012

Kawaguchi-ko Station Inn was friendly and good value. Great location near the station and within walking distance of lake. Right in front is Mount Fuji. Bedrooms are a bit cramped but clean and comfortable. There is a lovely ‘onsen’ type spa bath. There were no secure lockers in the dorms, which would have been good. You can leave things with the front desk, but it’s not locked up there either. Staff were lovely. Couldn’t find a kitchen as such, just hot drinks corner with no sink!

It was a very pleasant stay in the middle of Kyoto quite close to the central trainstation. The staff was really nice and helpful. At the time of our staying it was very hot and humid, but the air conditioning in the room was able to manage it. Sanitary facilites and rooms were very clean, fresh towels given every day. The room (2 person private room) was quite spacious and available for a reasonable price. I will definitively recommend this hostel to my friends. Thank you!

Affordable Kyoto Ryokan experience.

October 27th, 2012

entral location, very easy to get around by walking and mass transit. Very close to Kyoto Station. Nice customer service and affordable ryokan experience. The rooms were clean and futon bedding was soft and comfortable. The onsen hot water baths on the top floor are a neat touch. I only wish the food had be more affordable so we could have given it a try. This is a great budget option.

We found information on the hotel thanks to the “Japanese Inn Group” booklet. We got picked up of the train station by the staff. We went touring the city during the few days we stayed. The book of english booklet listed our visits to the most touristic part of the city. The staff is realy kind and helpfull, speaking good English realy helps and is a real added value to the hotel. The hotel feels perfectly safe,
the room and facilities are very clean and everything ia made to make you feel like home (free coffee, internet, nice talk with the staff etc…..). We realy enjoyed our stay here and will recommend it. As a remark, we found the rooms rate a bit expensive, as everywhere in Japan. Prices for lomg stay (3,5,7days) would really appeal peaple in this really nice hotel. Thanks !

Chita Guest Inn is perfect if you want to stay in a Ryokan style.

September 30th, 2012

Chita Guest Inn is perfect if you want to stay in a Ryokan style. They have this big bathroom Japanese style. The place is quite old but immaculately clean. Kahori, our hostess is more than accommodating. We had to go to Osaka but will be back the next day, she allowed us to leave our bags overnight. You can also cook, you can use their kitchenware and plates. Place is beside a bike rental also so you could go around Kyoto on your own w/ a map. 8 min walk from Kyoto stn. Will be back for sure!
