GREAT private onsen–BEAUTIFUL location. SUCH helpful staff! We rented bikes from Kawaguchiko Station Inn and spent the morning riding around the lake and marveling at the mountain. Affordable and a great experience.

Ryokan Wakamiya is wonderful!

April 28th, 2011

Ryokan Wakamiya is welcoming, clean, safe, with wonderful service. It is easy to find from the near station with helpful other services. The tea snack and public bath are memorable highlight. Charges for meal services was not clear.

This inn has fantastic character!

This inn has fantastic character! The manager was kind and helpful to us and the other travellers were very welcoming. Our rooms had soft tatami floors and the bathroom was traditional. A great experience for such a low price; we were very impressed.

Yamanaka Onsen

Yamanaka Onsen, one of onsen resorts in Kaga, Ishikawa Pref.

Kaga Onsen-kyo, southwest part of Ishikawa Prefecture has Japan’s prominent hot springs, including Yamashiro, Yamanaka, Katayamazu, and Awazu. There are many small but unique inns and hotels in the hot spring town at the foot of Mt. Haku (Hakusan). The resort is also surrounded by picturesque views of the coast to the majestic Mt. Haku (Hakusan). Kutaniyaki, a Japanese ceramic ware that flourished in the beginning of the Edo era back in 300 - 400 years ago and is still prominent today, has its origins at Yamanaka Onsen. Kutaniyaki glazes incorporate five vibrant colors - greens, yellows, purples, reds and blues - in bold designs that define its unique characteristics.
