Excellent place to stay in takayama. very close to center of town, and also good proximity to station. we didn’t eat the food so cant comment on that. Big flat screen tv, fridge , safe and really comfy futons. the onsen is a little bland though. Overall a decent choice - would stay again.

The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious and beautifully presented. The room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the kyoto snacks each day. Everyone on the staff was wonderful and very helpful. We had a little trouble finding the ryokan. A map with more detail would be useful. It would be useful for potential guests to know that there is a bus stop directly in front of the ryokan for bus that go to Kinkakuji. Another advantage is the bathe on the 7 floor! Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

This is the sweetest little hostel i`ve come across since my arrival in Japan, so nice in fact that I`m staying another night. The rooms are clean with a fan. Showers are clean and a towel, soap and shampoo are provided. The dining / communal area is lovely, with free tea and coffee as well as board games and maps of the local area. The staff are very friendly and helpful with a good level of English. Breakfast is a little expensive at 800 yen but is worth it - the best omelet i`ve ever had!

Loved the cosy, nice atmosphere of the hotel, With only four rooms. your ceive undivided personalised service from hotel owners, staff. Felt very welcomed & safe here. Staff went our of their way to advise us on places to eat, weaning a yukata & how to enjoy the onsen experience. An excellent friendly experience. Would definitely recommend my friend to stay here if they ever do visit Kinosakionsen.

Kohari, the head of the house, is a wonderful and very friendly person! She made sure we were comfortably settled in, and offered to move us to another room when our air-con wasn’t working, which showed her enthusiasm towards her guest. On the last day it was pouring rain, and my family and I had to head over to Kyoto station with our luggage, she kindly offered for her husband to send us by car to the station. We were extremely grateful towards her. Chita Guest Inn and a very warm, homey, vibe and makes.

1.Yes I would. The dinner & breakfast service was a total cultural experience, people should definitely try them. 2. The room was comfortable, and we felt safe. 3.The place is very easy to find, We took the city bus to the wait sightseeing sights. Kinkakuji is a must! 4.The staff are very polite & the service is excellent! a little bit difficult to communicate in English, but that adds the flavor of a read traditional Ryokan!

Amazing location, literally across the street from the train station and the bus terminal for the bus that takes you up to the 5th station of Mt Fuji. The inn also has a nice Japanese style bath with a great view of the mountain. Ask the front desk for directions to the Izakaya Ando, great little place to eat and have a few drinks!
