The location was excellent. The inn is near the station and all the attractions. Very nice view of the Hida Kokubunji. Staff were excellent and secruty was fine in the accommodation.

Lovely Japanese hot-tub-shared use with a view of Mount Fuji. Excellent location right next to train station where you can take the tourist bus to just about anywhere and 12 minutes walk to the lake (Lake Kawaguchiko).

The lady who runs the place is very nice - so are the staff. You don’t need to speak Japanese to stay there.

The owner and his wife of this Ryokan could not have been more helpful, both when out of their way to make our stay with then as pleasant as posible and i’d recommend a stay here for anyone who wants to see the wonderful snow monkeys or walk the well marked tracks in the nearby hills/mountains.

We would like to thank Mr. Yumoto for our stay in Yudanaka. He really made the most of it! The landscape at night from the rotemburo is really worth it! Mr. Yumoto drove us there and we quite appreciated as it was cold that night. He also drove us to the monkey park and he picked us up too! We highly recommend this ryokan and for sure we will book it again next time we travel to Japan! Thanks a lot Mr. Yumoto! Alejandro & Patricia

Stayed at Shimaya Ryokan, Yudanaka Onsen, Nagano Pref.
Very clean place. The room was very nice. The whole place looks like it’s been recently renovated. The men’s bath is adequate, but I hear the women’s is big and very nice. There was a (small) book shelf in the hall with a few books both for English speaking and Japanese guests. Didn’t really see the staff much at all, but they seemed nice.
