We (2 adults and a daughter) stayed at the ryokan for a night in early Dec. It was a most memorable experience and we strongly recommend this ryokan to anybody who visits Kinosakionsen. Our experiences were as follows . a) 5 min. walk from the JR Kinosakionsen station, almost in the middle of town. b) Very clean room and safe environment. c) We had the ‘Kaiseki’ dinner. Both the food and service was excellent. d) The ryokan has only 4 rooms. Consequently, it was very quiet and service very personalized. e) Accommodation at Kinosakionsen is very expensive and this ryokan offers one of the best value for money. f) Different designs of high quality ‘Yukata’ was included. We were awed with the designs. g) Free access to the 7 onsens in Kinosakionsen. h) The manager, Kojima-san took 2 photos and personalized them for us, including a small memorable gift on our departure at 6.45am the next day. i) Very comfortable beds and warm room especially on a very cold night (zero degree C). After soaking in the private bath, we had the best sleep in our entire 1-week holiday.

Ok, Kojinmari is a very simple Ryokan. Specially compared to what is around. However since most of the time you will spend in your yukata going from bath to bath, you don’t need more than what they offer. Above all, the service was… how can I put? the best! I usually don’t care much about it, however the owners were such a sweet heart that it made the whole difference. Honestly, I am a frequent international traveler and I definitely recommend this hotel.

Our two night stay at Kojinmari was a highlight of our trip to Japan. After much research on the internet, we decided to skip Hakone and venture further to Kinosaki. We vibed out Kojinmari and booked the room. Our choice turned out to be a bullseye. We stayed in the top(3rd) floor room with the attached private onsen. Mika and her family run this special place, and they helped make our stay a truly wonderful experience. They were super nice and wonderful hosts. The room was the perfect sanctuary to unwind after 7 nights of Tokyo and Osaka. The 3 hour train ride from Osaka was a breeze as the view is much more scenic than the Tokyo/Osaka train route. The room is huge and spotless. The private onsen tub, which can easily hold 4 or 5 people, was attached to the room and could be separated by a sliding wood panel door. It was unreal. It goes like this: soak, sit on side of tub to be cooled by the night air, then soak again. Repeat. Often. As a guest, you are also provided free passes to all of the 7 public onsens in Kinosaki. This town is so picturesque. A tram up the nearby mountain provides an excellent perspective. The Sea of Japan is a quick 10 minute bus ride. Each morning, a big Japanese breakfast was prepared for us. I believe Mika’s mother-in-law prepared it. It was delicious, filling, and the presentation was unforgettable. Who knew breakfast could be so much fun? Mika and her husband, who can speak some English ,gave us lunch and dinner suggestions as well. We did not want to leave Kojimari. If we do return to Japan some day, we will most certainly revisit Kojinmari. Supreme relaxation awaits.
