I have stayed in the inn twice and both times, I really enjoyed staying there. The owner was very nice and recommended places to go as well as the timing to go the places. What is more, the place gives a homely feel whenever one comes back to rest. Definitely will return back to the place if coming back to Kyoto.

I really enjoyed staying in this Ryokan. The atmosphere was enchanting. Khaori (the staff) was really nice, very helpful and very friendly. I could meet a lot of other travelers there, it was very easy to interact with them in the common area. The location was great, very easy to find and near to the station, where the busses leave for going everywhere in the city. I found this place very comfortable…I felt at home!!! I highly recommend it to everybody!!!

It was a very pleasant stay in the middle of Kyoto quite close to the central trainstation. The staff was really nice and helpful. At the time of our staying it was very hot and humid, but the air conditioning in the room was able to manage it. Sanitary facilites and rooms were very clean, fresh towels given every day. The room (2 person private room) was quite spacious and available for a reasonable price. I will definitively recommend this hostel to my friends. Thank you!

Chita Guest Inn is perfect if you want to stay in a Ryokan style. They have this big bathroom Japanese style. The place is quite old but immaculately clean. Kahori, our hostess is more than accommodating. We had to go to Osaka but will be back the next day, she allowed us to leave our bags overnight. You can also cook, you can use their kitchenware and plates. Place is beside a bike rental also so you could go around Kyoto on your own w/ a map. 8 min walk from Kyoto stn. Will be back for sure!

This was a great hostel! Not only was the room quite large, the facilities were clean, readily available, and the owner was super-friendly and always helpful to us, doing everything from providing maps & directions to giving us an umbrella to take to Tokyo when it turned out to be very rainy. I’d stay there again any time!

Chita Guest Inn is a lovely guesthouse, only a short walk from Kyoto train station. The first thing you’ll see is the most friendly patron of the guesthouse; she was very welcoming, and helped us out with a lot of stuff such as finding nice restaurants, finding the right modes of transportation and other tips. The whole Inn has a nice traditional atmosphere to it, and your room has tatami mats and kimonos waiting for you. There is a computer with free internet (and free wifi), and a roofterrace.

Chita Guest Inn is 10 mins walk from the station, just off a laneway opposite a huge temple on Karasuma street. There is a bike rental shop and it is just to the right of that heading towards the centre of town. Kaori was a fantastic host! Very friendly and helpful and great English. Rooms have TVs, tatami mat-style but good futon mattresses. There is only 1 bathroom but it was fine while I was there. There’s a kitchen, communal area and internet. Some of the rooms have a lot of noise though.

“Highly recommended”.This traditional inn is at one of the best locations in central Kyoto. Its a few minutes walk from Kyoto train station and surrounded by beautiful temples and family run bars and restaurants. The rooms are of a comfortable size and kept very clean. The staff speak English and are very helpful with information on the area. The curfew is at midnight but this can be flexible if you just tell them before going out. I would stay there again for sure.

This hotel is one of the best experiences I’ve had in Japan. The manager is friendly and very helpful, I’ve had the chance to meet and share stories with other travellers in the common room and it’s just a 5-minutes walk away from Kyoto station. Oh, and the futons in this hotel are so comfortable ! Definitely not the last time I go there…

This hostel was very well furnished, comfortable and homely. The manager was very friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. The rooms were spacious for a guest house, as well as comfortable. The hostel was also located in a good central location, right near a major temple, and Kyoto Station.
